Paper Dolls

My Paper Dolls are sculptural storytellers. Each one begins with a simple silhouette and gradually develops its own identity through collage, drawing and layers of paper. The garments are never mere decoration. They become visual narratives, carrying memories, emotions, symbols and fragments of imagined lives.I am fascinated by the unique nature of paper: its fragility, its history and its ability to hold traces of time. Working with paper allows me to combine drawing, painting and collage while embracing imperfection and transformation.

.Unlike paintings, these figures exist as objects. They can stand, hang on a wall or appear unexpectedly in the landscape, creating a dialogue with the places they inhabit. Their presence shifts with every new environment, inviting new stories to unfold.Inspired by folk traditions, handcrafted objects and the universal language of clothing, my Paper Dolls explore identity, belonging and the many roles we carry throughout our lives. They exist between artwork, sculpture and narrative,

What began as a simple paper figure has grown into a shared creative language that connects people across generations and cultures through storytelling, imagination, and identity.

The response to my Paper Dolls has been deeply moving. Across different countries and generations, people have shared how these figures awaken childhood memories while opening conversations about identity, imagination and self-expression. Their universal language seems to resonate far beyond cultural boundaries.

This growing connection inspired me to expand the project beyond my own studio. Today, I offer workshops and create workbooks that invite others to discover their own Paper Dolls and the stories they carry. What began as a personal artistic exploration has gradually evolved into a shared creative practice, bringing together people of all ages through paper, storytelling and the joy of making.
